Prima tappa: Cape Town
An unforgettable trip, through very different countries (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe), parks and animals, cities and people.
First stop: Cape Town
The first day we visited Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point: marvellous panoramas, animals, and a rare winter sun and an amazing sunset in Cape Town
We dedicated the second day to Robben Island, the jail where Nelson Mandela spent most of his prison time. A grey sky overlooked a moving visit.
The third day was more on the "cultural side": we visited the District Six Museum (District Six was a black neighborhood of Cape Town, that was completely wiped out during the apartheid years, all residents moved elsewhere, farther away from downtown Cape Town) and the National Gallery. Then we drove outside of town to the wine region, where we had lunch at Frenchoek, and visited the Villiera winery closed by.
