I know it's been such a long while, but I actually haven't spent so much time in NYC after October 2011, so I figured it wouldn't have been so fair to blog about NYC not being there ;)
But now I'm back, for good, and I have a couple of things to talk about
Some pictures first: some Times Square by night (always good for old-style Italians..) and some Battery Park by day, a really nice area downtown Manhattan, so much downtown that you can actually see Lady Liberty

And now some stories - I know you love them!
What is Sleep No More?
It's hard to describe, but it's a very different theatre experience. First of all, no stage, no seats, no curtain
The story, inspired by Shakespeare's Machbet
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macbeth , takes place in an old hotel, where the actors move across rooms and floors, running around alone, meeting with other main actors for choral scenes, dancing and fighting. And you spectator have to follow them, sometimes chase them; you have to chose an actor and follow him/her, to grasp a part his/her perspective of the story, and try to get a bigger picture
The story gets repeated several times during the performance, so you can pick each time a different actor, and keep on running through corridors, room and stairs..
I know my synopsis doesn't look clear, but it's not clear to me, either..
I think it's the typical American thing: it's totally awesome, everybody talks about it, all the American people think it's amazing oh my god. The truth? It's cool, it's fashion, but to me too weird to be enjoyed - like contemporary art: sorry but I still don't get it 100%, there are things I like, and things I find useless, and slightly offensive ;)
What is Mary Poppins the Musical?
This is way easier to describe :)
If you were born in the 80's, then you will love it! The musical has the original songs and dances from the movie, and everybody can sing and feel young and happy for 2 hours
Mary Poppins is always Mary Poppins!
Yes, yesterday was St. Patrick's Day, and the Americans celebrate it as if they were Irish... So everybody was drunk at 11am in the street, and dressed in green, Central Park was full of people, there was also a parade on the 5th Avenue
I'm afraid I don't have a picture, but I swear I also saw a guy walking a goat, just like a dog...

Well, Happy St. Patrick's day!
Storia Numero 1: Un'esperienza diversa, a http://www.sleepnomorenyc.com/
Cos'e' Sleep No More?
Storia Numero 2: Un'esperienza piu' tradizionale, a http://www.marypoppins.com/about
Cos'e' Mary Poppins the Musical?
Questa la so :)
Mary Poppins e' sempre Mary Poppins!
Storia Numero 3: Un'esperienza molto "tradizionale", a http://nycstpatricksparade.org/
